So far we have an understanding of a black and white television. Color is a very simple addition. Instead of the screen being coated with one simple fluorescent coating, the inside coating is divided into red, green and blue dots. There is a shadow mask with tiny holes between the coated screen and the electron gun. There are three separate electron guns to read the impulses of red, green, and blue. As they pass the hole, the different locations of the guns point to the differently colored pixels behind the same hole in the mask and light them up according to their electronic impulses.
